CLAY CENTER OF NEW ORLEANS
The Clay Center of New Orleans was created by ceramic artist and Tulane University adjunct professor Michelle Swafford. In the summer of 2017, Michelle approached me about opening a ceramic gallery, supply shop, and teaching studio in the heart of New Orleans. Being an enthusiastic supporter of all things ‘clay,’ I agreed without hesitation. We leased a 500 sq. ft. space within the Art Egg Studios building and transformed it into an exceptional art gallery. The Clay Center opened its doors to the public on January 5, 2018. In the Fall of 2022, we opened our teaching studio. The Center is on its way to becoming a ceramic hub in New Orleans.
